Our Story

Why Verity Exists

Verity Hearing was born from hearing care professionals seeing the same problem again and again: people were not simply struggling to hear. They were struggling to make sense of the hearing aid buying process.

Some were trying to understand a clinic quote. Some were comparing insurance benefits against private-pay options. Some were trying to decide whether OTC hearing aids were enough. Some were helping a parent or spouse who felt overwhelmed. Some had already been quoted thousands of dollars and still did not know whether the recommendation was right.

In many cases, people were not being intentionally misled. The system itself was simply too confusing. But in other cases, patients were rushed, steered, oversold, or left without enough explanation to make a confident decision.

Verity exists for that moment: the moment before someone commits. The moment before thousands of dollars are spent. The moment when a family needs clarity more than pressure.

The Data

The Hearing Aid Gap Is Real

Millions of adults could benefit from hearing aids, but many never move forward. Cost, confusion, stigma, insurance questions, provider trust, technology choices, and poor past experiences can all get in the way.

28.8 million

U.S. adults could benefit from using hearing aids.

Fewer than 30%

of adults 70 and older who could benefit from hearing aids have ever used them.

About 16%

of adults ages 20-69 who could benefit from hearing aids have ever used them.

That gap matters. It suggests that many people are not getting stuck because they do not care. They are getting stuck because the process feels expensive, complicated, and hard to trust. Verity helps close that clarity gap.

Clarity First

What Verity Is Not

Not a Hearing Aid Retailer

We do not sell hearing aids. We help you understand what you are being sold before you buy.

Not a Manufacturer Representative

We do not push a specific brand or model. We help you understand whether a recommendation fits your situation.

Not an Insurance Network

We do not steer people toward one benefit path. We help you compare insurance-based and private-pay options.

Not a Clinic Replacement

We do not replace licensed hearing evaluations, medical care, or professional fitting. We prepare you to get more from those visits.

Our Role

What Verity Does

Verity helps people understand the decision in front of them. We help review the buying situation, not just the product. That may include hearing history, listening needs, lifestyle, budget, quote details, technology level, insurance benefits, OTC options, prescription hearing aids, provider care, trial terms, warranty, and follow-up support.

We Help Clarify

  • Whether OTC or prescription hearing aids may be more appropriate
  • Whether a quote appears complete or unclear
  • What questions to ask before buying
  • Whether insurance benefits may help or limit options
  • What kind of follow-up care matters
  • Whether premium technology is justified
  • What next step makes the most sense

We Help People Avoid

  • Buying too quickly
  • Overpaying without understanding why
  • Choosing a technology level that does not match their lifestyle
  • Ignoring trial terms or warranty details
  • Assuming insurance is always the best path
  • Assuming OTC hearing aids are always enough
  • Feeling pressured into a decision they do not understand

Our Commitment

Our Independent Promise

Our main goal is not to sell you a specific brand, provider, device, or insurance route. Our goal is to help answer a better question: What do you or your family member actually need to hear as well as possible, receive the right level of care, and avoid paying more than necessary?

That means looking at the full picture:

Family Helpers

For adult children, spouses, or caregivers helping someone navigate hearing aid options, local audiologist recommendations, and treatment decisions.

Prior Hearing Aid Wearers

For people who have worn hearing aids before and are unsure whether to upgrade, replace, or try a different care path, including a fresh hearing aid consultation.

No One-Size-Fits-All

The Right Answer Is Not the Same for Everyone

The right answer depends on the person, the hearing loss, the listening environments, the budget, the care model, and the level of support needed after purchase. Verity exists to help sort through those tradeoffs.

Some people may be good candidates for OTC hearing aids.
Some need prescription hearing aids and professional fitting.
Some should use an insurance benefit.
Some may be better served by private-pay options.
Some need premium technology.
Some do not.
Some need a local audiologist.
Some need more affordable access to quality hearing care.
